Postdoctoral Fellowship 2024-25

The Centered Space has an opening for a Postdoctoral Fellow to join our boutique private practice in New York City. This position is ideal for those interested in working in a private practice setting. Areas of specialization include women’s mental health, perinatal anxiety & mood, somatics, and parenting. The ideal candidate will be passionate and educated about at least one of the following: matrescence, perinatal mood and anxiety, women’s health, parenting. Therapists at The Centered Space are integrative and holistic, and utilizes a combination of CBT, DBT, ACT, somatics and relational psychodynamic modalities. Full time will carry a case load of 20+ patients, part-time will carry 12+ case load. The position is hybrid in-person at our Union Square office and virtual and require two evenings per week for full-time.

Requirements:

·       Doctoral degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) from APA-accredited program

·       If applying as a postdoctoral fellow, must have a Limited Permit

·       The full-time clinician will carry a caseload of 20+ patients (12+ for part-time)

·       Previous training in couples and/or family therapy appreciated

·       The ideal candidate will take an integrative approach and have experience working from a relational and mindfulness-based framework. Knowledge of experiential modalities is a plus (IFS, SE, EMDR, AEDP)

·       The position is for 24 months, with the possibility to transition to a staff psychologist after the completion of the fellowship

·       Writing for our blog and social media, and participating in networking and marketing efforts

Compensation:

The position is a part-time to full-time, fee-for-service position. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience. Benefits include malpractice insurance coverage, healthcare contribution, and training/professional development stipend. Each postdoctoral fellow will receive two hours of supervision and training each week, including group supervision and didactics, aligned with the postdoctoral fellow’s interests.
